The eight-year-old SUV continues to be available in the same five trims — SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T, and SRT — but with minor upgrades. When it comes to style, the GT trim now joins the sport-like R/T and SRT models with the same LED fog lamps and performance front fascia. Exterior color also gets an update with three new tones available for all models: Reactor blue, F8 green, and Destroyer gray. Compared to the 2018 model, the GT and the SRT have the most style updates, including optional 20-inch wheels.

The top-of-the-line SRT comes standard with a 5.7-liter V-8 Hemi engine that generates 360 horsepower. A 475-horsepower 6.4-liter V-8 engine is available if you go with the all-wheel-drive version of this trim. On the lower end of the range, the SXT and GT come with a 3.6-liter V-6 Pentastar engine that puts out 295 horsepower. The mid-range Citadel also comes with a standard 3.6-liter engine, but buyers can upgrade to the same 5.7-liter V8 Hemi engine that comes standard with the R/T.

An all-wheel-drive system comes standard with the SRT and is optional in all other models. All models come with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission. Models equipped with a rear-wheel-drive system and 3.6-liter engine have a 6,200-pound towing capacity, and they rank at 19 miles per gallon in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. All-wheel-drive models with the same engine rank at 18/25 mpg. If you go with an all-wheel-drive system and 5.7-liter V-8 engine, you'll get a towing capacity of 7,400 pounds and fuel economy of 14 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. As for the 6.4-liter V-8 engine that uses premium fuel, it provides 13 mpg and 19 mpg in the city and highway respectively.

The interior design was also updated, and leather seats are now available in all models. New available features for the SRT include optional red seatbelts and an instrument panel with carbon fiber accents. The R/T features an available 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and second-row captain's chairs (standard in the Citadel model). The Citadel and the SXT include standard features like a touchscreen (8.4 and 7 inches, respectively), Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the Uconnect system.

If you're planning to equip your 2019 Dodge Durango with the Trailer Tow Package, this option includes an integrated trailer brake system. Blind-spot monitoring is available as an add-on option in all trim levels. For good-to-have safety features like pre-collision braking, rear parking sensors, and the lane-keep assist, ask your dealership about the Technology Package (not included in the SXT version). Multistage front airbags and remote keyless entry are a couple of the safety features included in all models.
